1. Why are car park charges being introduced?

The growing number of visitors in recent years to the Common and the Golf Club has placed increasing pressure on the existing car parks. This has resulted in members of the Golf Club and patrons of the café and restaurant facing increasing difficulty in finding parking spaces. The Cotswold Hub, who own the Golf Club business, have therefore decided to use a parking company, Parkingeye, to provide a long-term solution to managing parking.

Cleeve Common Trust have decided to include the Quarry Car Park in this solution, in order to avoid congestion at the narrow entrance and the access lane, which may also pose a risk to visitors on foot, cycle or horseback.

2. When will charges be brought in?

The scheme is expected to be turned on from 24th July 2023.

3. What do I pay as a golfer [Visitor or Member]?

All golfers at Cleeve Hill Golf Club can park for free as long as a tee time is booked, and green fee is paid for on the day of visit. Please refer to Question 4 for information on what to do when you arrive on-site.

Members of Cleeve Hill Golf Club are entitled to park for free as part of their Membership package.

4. What do I do when I arrive on-site at Cleeve Hill Golf Club

No matter how you’ve booked your tee time, please ensure your first priority is to check-in at the Golf Shop upon arrival. On confirmation of your tee time and green fee payment, the staff Member on duty will provide details on how you can register for your parking charge exemption.

Please remember, your vehicle is not automatically exempt from charges when you arrive, you will need to provide us with the registration plate.

5. What do I do before/after Clubhouse opening hours?

If the Golf Shop is closed upon your arrival at the Golf Club, please ensure to check-in at the Clubhouse Bar, where an on-duty staff member will provide all relevant information.

[5.1.] Early Morning Arrivals

If all Clubhouse facilities are closed upon an early morning arrival at the Golf Club, please ensure to visit the Golf Shop after completion of your round to register for your parking charge exemption.

[5.2] Late Evening Arrivals

Cleeve Hill Golf Club is taking all measures to best prepare for those that book an evening tee time when all Clubhouse facilities will be closed. When making an online booking, please take note of all requested information and provide us with your car’s registration. Please be aware, we need the registration plates of ALL golfers who will be arriving in their own vehicles.

6. Which car parks are included?

The Golf Club car park, including the overflow area once it becomes available, and Quarry Car Park on the Common.

7. Do charges apply to set hours of the day or days of the week?

Car parking charges apply 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

8. How much does it cost to park for the general public?

The parking tariff is £2. This covers a 24-hour period from the time of entry.

9. If I leave and return to the car park later the same day, do I have to pay again?

No, the charge covers multiple visits within the 24 hour period.

10. What happens if I’m being dropped off or picked up [dropping off or picking up]?

No parking fee is charged if you leave the car park within 20 minutes of arrival.

All non-golfing customers of Cotswold Hub Ltd, including the Cotswold Café, Flynn’s on the Hill Restaurant and Cleeve Hill Golf Club can park for free as long as a purchase of at least £2 is made on the day of visit. Please see any member of the Cotswold Hub team on arrival.

11. What happens if I don’t check in and provide my registration in the Golf Shop?

The system logs your registration plate and you will face a non-payment parking charge of up to £100 by the parking company, Parkingeye (not by Cotswold Hub Ltd or Cleeve Common Trust). It is important that we receive the relevant information to log your vehicle into the system.

12. Where can I get help if I’m having problems?

In the Golf Club Shop, the Café or Restaurant. If these are closed, refer to the Parkingeye website or call them on 0330 444 5555 for help.
